This looks ace - I love Lego games
I was going to write something on my tumblr today but I didn’t know what so I didn’t.
Life, the universe, and everything
OK so I couldn’t think of a title so I ripped off Douglas Adams.
The point is I felt like telling anyone who cares how much I’m enjoying my life right now. I’ve been at my job (and yes I know haven’t posted) for over three months now and the majority of the time I really enjoy it. I work with a good bunch of people and the work is interesting. Sometimes I even have responsibilities that could affect some a major financial corporation (probably not at liberty to name names!) if I were to get them but we won’t think about that too much. I’ve even managed to do a bit of overtime which is always good for the bank balance.
As for my life outside of work, most of it is spent with Zoe; my wife of 10 months. I wouldn’t have that any other way. I love her very much and enjoy my life with her, hopefully she knows that!
We have had a busy few months going to weddings and visiting family as well as decorating the house (we still need to finish downstairs).
This weekend I have 3 days of puppy sitting to look forward to as well as various friends coming to see them/us. Zoe is going to a pampering session with Hayley and Helen on Saturday while I stay and keep an eye on Mums puppies at her house.
If you head over to Zoe’s site you will learn much more about us I expect, she blogs loads!
Another five things
This time from Hayley: “tea, driving, drinking (alcoholic of course!), flamingos and this photo” (see below):
Tea
This is a typical Hayley thing, she loves the stuff. But the reason she associates me with it goes back to when we lived in the same house at university. Conveniently for Hayley and the rest of the house, I lived right next to the kitchen, and as I drank quite a bit of the stuff myself, I was often nice enough to offer (over msn of course, no point running upstairs) to make her and my other housemates a cuppa when I was making one.
Driving
This ones simple. I was the only one in the house that Hayley and I lived in that had a car (I think?) . Anyway if we wanted to go to Morrisons for example, I’d be the driver. This was fine as long as I wanted to buy something too, it is after all the cheapest supermarket in aber. The car was also great for going to Ynyslas and stuff.
Drinking (not a the same time as driving)
Well.. I don’t know what this is all about. I don’t really drink that much. OK so back at uni I had my fair share, and we had some fun times! Also thinking back to that house I have been known to polish of a bottle of wine to myself in an evening while trying to work on some project or other. That’s not to say I didn’t get out at all though, I was often down Rosser bar with the lads of an evening; and we had plenty of cheesy nights in the union or down town..
Flamingos
Ohh… I have a habit of doing this weird thing where I stand on one leg and prop my other leg up against the one thats on the floor and look like a flamingo… hence flamingos.
This picture:

That is hilarious, but to be honest I need reminding. I know it’s obviously taken in the kitchen of the house in PJM . Am I wearing a top/jacket of yours Hayley and a hat. And what’s with the peg. Am I drunk? Comments please??
Five things
OK here goes, the idea of this is to get to know more about people I guess. The way it works is I take 5 things someone has given me, that they feel that they associate with me and I write about them- simple eh? Then… if you want to you comment and ask me for 5 things about you!
Zoe gave me these: dogs, computers, Aberystwyth, wedding, & softie!
So let’s begin!
Dogs
I love dogs, I have to really. I was brought up in a house full of Norwich Terriers (Awful website but you get the picture), my mum breeds them so we always had a minimum of about 4 or 5 of them, up to about 9; and of course breeding involves puppies so I was brought up baby sitting puppies not a brother or a sister! I also frequented many a dog show as a child, whether I liked it or not (it could get a bit boring!), because my mum also shows the dogs that turn out good enough! Those that don’t turn out good enough to show become pet dogs like our Homily and get spoilt and sleep all day!
Computers
I’m a geek, I admit it. Ever since I’ve had access to a computer I’ve liked to push it to it’s limits, take it apart, put it back together etc. I did a degree course in Internet computing which brought me into the world of web development, which I now work in; but that doesn’t mean I don’t find time to work on my own projects/websites. One of which is Twitnote, a Twitter related project that Zoe and I are working on, due to be launched shortly.
I can’t talk about computers without mentioning macs really- my platform of choice and the platform which seems to be present in nearly every room of our house. Yes I started off with Windows PC’s but then when I was at uni I bought myself an iBook. Then when Zoe moved in, she brought her macbook with her (inspired by my iBook), shortly after that the desktop PC got replaced with an iMac. Now we have 2 iPhones and the aforementioned MacBook and iMac (not to mention the airport) and the only PC we have actually running is a linux server!
Aberystwyth
This is where I spent my university years. It’s a beautiful town city that makes its income from the 12,000 students that live there and turns into a slightly bleak tourist town in the summer. I love the place and I’m glad I went to uni there as I met some great people and made some good friends; and of course had a good social life as well as spending lots of last minute hours working on projects and and of course my dissertation. Random fact: last time I checked Aberystwyth had the highest pub:student ratio and (correct me if I’m wrong) the highest student:church ratio!!
Wedding
12/12/2008: Our wedding day, the best day of my life.. so far. I don’t like the whole best day of my life thing that much as it kindof means the rest of your life is destined to be worse!! But anyway it was wonderful and couldn’t have gone better, bar the odd usher having to get mud scrubbed off his suit at the last minute! I love my life with Zoe and I don’t regret anything. Yes we ‘argue’ but nothing major, it’s always over stupid things, and I think it would be unnatural if we didn’t right?
Softie
Erm.. I guess this is in reference to me generally being a nice husband who doesn’t mind spoiling his wife now and then, especially if she is feeling down or upset about something..
Done!
There you go… five things, but if anyone else would like to give me five things to elaborate on I will add them!
I just discovered I am not alone when working in my study in the afternoon. There is someone else who likes my desk. When I say someone else thats pushing it a bit but hey. Look what I just found running all over my desk (it was hard to get a shot of him).
Hope you’re not scared of spiders! OK so its a rubbish shot and because of the orientation of my phone its ended up on it side. I wanted to post something fun though.
On another note we just watched Marley and Me- really good film sad though. Zoe has even begun to read the book for the second time. Maybe I’ll read it too… but I always seem to start reading things and never finish. It’s not that I don’t enjoy it- I just don’t pick up a book often enough and I find other things to do or I just go to sleep.
Talking of sleep I need some and the dog is probably waiting for me to feed her before she curls up on the bed for the night!
